Essential amino acid critical for heart function, vision, bile salt formation, and neurological health; deficiency is linked to dilated cardiomyopathy. Degrades with heat processing, so kibble may have reduced taurine. Added as a supplement to Oxbow and Mazuri ferret diets. Best dietary sources are hearts and beef tongue.
